Argillà Italia is a biennal Ceramic Festival that takes place in Faenza, in the first weekend of September: a full immersion into the world of ceramics and ceramists through events, a market-fair, exhibitions, shows and many cultural activities!
Organized since 2008 by AiCC - Association of Italian Cities of Ceramics and Municipality of Faenza, it sees the participation of about 200 artists and craftsmen – selected from all over Europe and other countries – exhibiting and selling their ceramic production in the city's historical centre.
Many are the events besides the market-fair, such as Mondial Tornianti (Worldwide Wheel Potters Championship), the platform dedicated to the Guest Country, open-air kilns and ceramic firing, children corners, music concerts with ceramic instruments, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and other animations and performances.
Around 30.000 visitors come to Faenza to attend Argillà Italia and to visit the town, which has always played an outstanding role in the field of ceramics. Ceramic art has accompanied the town's development, has affected the architectural styles, moulded the artistic, craft and industrial products, influencing and orientating the taste of citizens.
Argillà Italia picks up and develops the characteristics of the French "mother event" held in Aubagne, striving for high quality exhibitors, a competent public and excellent events and shows.
At the same time, it aims to open up to Europe by working with ARGINET's partners and with the Associations of Cities of Ceramics in Italy, France, Spain and Romania, since 2013 grouped together in AEuCC, the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation "Cities of Ceramics".
