Argilla Aubagne

Argilla is the largest ceramic festival in France.

Every two years, the heart of Aubagne hosts thousands of visitors for a wonderful weekend, discovering the creations presented by around 200 ceramistst and potter coming from France and abroad, after a rigorous selction process.

For two days, the whole town is taken over by clay: grès, majolica, porcellain, terre vernissée... Nearly 200 exhibitors, selected by a jury, create one of the largest ceramic markets in Europe.

Common-use objects, dishes, unique and decorative pieces, a mix of productions reflecting the richness of this art.

In this way, over the years, Argilla has become a "brand": the latest ceramic creations, prestigious contemporary, modern and classical exhibitions, but also workshops and demonstrations. Many animations makes this event unmissable for lovers of clay, amateurs, sophisticated collectors or decoration professionals .

Today the city and the "Association des céramistes et santonniers aubagnais" sees beyond the ceramic festival. Their aim is to develop research and innovation of this art.

The success and reputation of Argilla have grown steadily since the first edition in 1991, to the point that it has inspired a prestigious cousin city in Italy: Faenza, which saw the birth of the art of pottery, organizes since 2008 Argillà Italia .

Argilla is one of the greatest satisfactions of its creators: the City of Aubagne and the "Association des céramistes et santonniers aubagnais".
