PICASSO, A POTTER AND THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA

Picasso céremiste et la Mediterranée

An exhibition of Picasso's ceramics works, showing that the great artist was also a ceramist.

This exhibition will be held in the gallery created in the beautiful Chapelle des Pénitents Noirs. In the 1950s, Picasso explored Mediterranean civilisations using all kinds of media, including paintings, engravings, lithographs and ceramics. He put as much genius and energy into ceramics as he did into his sculptures and paintings. The exhibition will feature around 150 pieces that have never been shown together, and some that have never been shown at all.
